About MDLA

Primary / Early Childhood (Ages 3–6)

At this stage, children absorb the world around them like sponges — taking in knowledge through movement, exploration, and all their senses.
At Montessori Dual Language Academy, our Primary classrooms provide a nurturing, bilingual environment where curiosity, independence, and joy in learning flourish every day.

Each classroom is guided by a Montessori-certified lead teacher and an assistants, supporting every child’s individual growth through hands-on exploration in the core areas of study:

  • Practical Life — Developing care for self and the environment through daily routines that build confidence, focus, and independence.

  • Sensorial — Refining the senses and preparing the mind for abstract thinking in math, language, and science.

  • Math — Exploring numbers, patterns, and operations using concrete Montessori materials.

  • Language — Building vocabulary, phonetic awareness, and early reading and writing in both English and Spanish.

Cultural subjects are woven into each child’s day, including music, art, Spanish, and movement, along with daily outdoor play.

Kindergarten (Ages 5–6)

Kindergarten is the final and most exciting year of the three-year Montessori cycle.
As leaders in the classroom, children build on their previous learning through more complex and collaborative work that nurtures independence and critical thinking.

Afternoons include:

  • Group discussions in cultural studies, science, and geography

  • Reading, math, and writing enrichment

  • Spanish, music, and movement

  • Hands-on cooking projects and science experiments

Through these experiences, children strengthen problem-solving skills, expand their bilingual vocabulary, and prepare to transition with confidence and enthusiasm into the next stage of their educational journey.
